History does repeat itself.
“And those who ignore history are destined to repeat it.” – Edmund Burke
U.S. Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-New York, wants fewer babies to be born in America. A proud socialist, Ocasio-Cortez asked the question, “Is it OK still to have children?”
Implicit in that statement is her view that, no, people should not be having children.
“Our planet is going to face disaster if we don’t turn this ship around.”
“And so it’s basically like, there is a scientific consensus that the lives of children are going to be very difficult and it does lead, I think young people, to have a legitimate question. Ya know, should — is it OK to still have children?
“Not just financially because people are graduating with 20, 30, 100 thousand dollars of student loan debt so they can’t even afford to have kids in the house, but there’s also just this basic moral question, like, what do we do?
“And even if you don’t have kids, there are still children here in the world and we have a moral obligation to them to leave a better world to them.”
This foolishness would be easy to dismiss if it weren’t coming from a congresswoman and if her message wasn’t resonating with young people.
An extreme environmentalist and spokeswoman for the “Green New Deal,” she is suggesting at least tacitly that America should adopt population control and restrict the number of children a couple can have. This is what communists did in China.
The deeper issue is that Ocasio-Cortez wants to devalue human life in favor of an unworkable plan to “save the planet.”
This is a scary philosophy.
