TULSA, Okla. –– The Tulsa women golfers finished in 11th place at its own Dale McNamara Invitational on Tuesday afternoon as Golden Hurricane senior Lovisa Gunnar placed ninth overall at the par-71 Cedar Ridge Country Club course.
Gunnar carded a final round 1-over par 72 for a 54-hole total of 6-over 219. Beginning the shotgun start on hole 10, Gunnar birdied the par-4 11th hole before suffering two bogeys. She began her final nine holes with an eagle on the par-5 first hole in moving to 1-under par after 10 holes. She finished her back-nine with six par putts and two bogeys for her 72.
Junior Jenni Roller, who played as an individual, was 2-over par on the day and finished in 18th place with a 223 total score. Roller birdied her final two holes of the day, the par -4 eighth and ninth holes for a round of 73. Sophomore Allyn Stephens turned in her best round of the tournament with a 4-over par 75 and finished in 39th place at 230 for the event.
Sophomore Norah Seidl in 58th place, senior Sydney Seigel in 72nd place and senior Hanna Robinett in 79th place rounded out the Hurricane roster.
Arkansas captured the team title with a final score of 6-over par 858 after today’s round of 290. Rounding out the top five in the 16-team field was second-place Oklahoma State (879), Oklahoma (895), BYU (901) and a fifth-place tie between UTSA and Boise State (906).
The Lady Razorbacks’ Regan Zibilski won individual medalist honors with a 5-under par total score of 208.
Tulsa will be in action next at the Charles Schwab Women’s Collegiate Challenge in Fort Worth, Texas, October 28-29.
