Broken Arrow, OK, 10/17/24 – The Gatesway Foundation, a historic institution serving the Intellectually and Developmentally Disabled (I/DD) Community, announces the final phase of its Setting Standards Capital Campaign. The Foundation has successfully raised $6.7 million of its $7 million goal and is now seeking to secure the remaining $301,000 to unlock a significant challenge grant from The Mabee Foundation.
The Mabee Foundation has pledged $450,600 to the campaign, contingent upon Gatesway raising $900,000 from private sources, including individuals, charitable trusts, foundations, and corporations by November 21. This challenge grant represents a crucial opportunity to complete the campaign and continue Gatesway’s 60-year legacy of providing quality housing and job training opportunities for the I/DD Community.
The campaign has already received substantial support from prominent community partners, including Morningcrest Healthcare Foundation, William K. Warren Foundation, Hardesty Family Foundation, Grace and Franklin Bernsen Foundation, Federal Home Loan Bank of Topeka, and the Pearl M. and Julia J. Harmon Foundation. Over $4 million in government grants and funding has been secured, with strict compliance and reporting requirements ensuring transparent fund management. Gatesway commits to providing quarterly construction project updates to all donors.
“Every member of the I/DD Community deserves a safe and dignified lifestyle through quality housing and job training opportunities,” said Sarah Frey, Project Manager at Gatesway Foundation. “We are now at a crucial juncture where community support can help us unlock additional funding to complete our mission.”
