The goal of John 3:16 Mission is to collect 5,000 turkeys. “This holiday season, Thanksgiving and Christmas, is a time when the community can do something that matters to bless our hurting neighbors,” says Steven Whitaker, CEO of John 3:16 Mission. “The meals we serve and the food baskets we distribute will make all the difference for many in the community. We depend on Tulsa to help us.”

Some turkeys will be included in a food basket and the other will be cooked for holiday meals.

With the cost of groceries increasing, many families in Tulsa need help filling their tables with a special Thanksgiving meal. The Mission is hosting food drives at various grocery stores around the Tulsa metro November 16, and 23, from 9 am to  2 pm (see locations below).

The Mission will be accepting donations of frozen turkeys and nonperishable food items such as:

  • Canned apple pie filling
  • Canned cherry pie filling
  • Brown gravy mix packets
  • Boxed macaroni and cheese
  • Canned sweet potatoes
  • Canned mandarin oranges
  • Canned peaches
  • Canned pears
  • Canned pineapple
  • Boxed stuffing
  • Dry mashed potato mix (box or pouch)
  • Canned cranberry sauce
  • Canned corn
  • Canned green beans

The food will be accepted at  •  John 3:16 Mission at 506 N. Cheyenne Ave. 7 AM to 7 PM Mon-Sun through Nov. 22

  • Family & Youth Center at 2027 N. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. 9 AM to 5 PM Mon – Fri through Nov. 22
  • Under the Sun Garden Center 91st Street and Sheridan Avenue during business hours through Nov. 22.

Does your family need help with a Thanksgiving meal? Food pickups are on November 23 and November 25 from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm. This will be a drive-thru event at the Family and Youth Center, 2027 MLK, Jr Blvd. in Tulsa.
