Candidates interested in filing for municipal office in 2 Tulsa County municipalities will file Declarations of Candidacy beginning 8 a.m. Monday, December 2.

Gwen Freeman, Secretary of the Tulsa County Election Board, said Declaration of Candidacy forms must be completed and submitted to the County Election Board no later than 5 p.m. Wednesday, December 4 when the filing period ends.

Freeman reminds voters that Contests of Candidacy must be filed no later than Friday, December 6 and may only be filed by another candidate for that office, unless a candidate files unopposed.

Declarations of Candidacy will be accepted for the following offices:

City of Owasso Council Member

  • Ward 5   3 yr. term
  • Ward 1   2 yr. (unexpired term)

City of Sand Springs City Council Member

  • Ward 1   3 yr. term
  • Ward 2   3 yr. term

Note: Declarations of Candidacy will be accepted at the City of Sand Springs Office of the City Clerk, Sand Springs Municipal Building, 100 East Broadway Street, Room 200, Sand Springs, OK, 74063, between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. and 1:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. for the above City of Sand Springs offices.

Party nominees for offices at stake in Owasso and Sand Springs will be selected in the Primary Election scheduled February 11, 2025. The General Election, if necessary, after the Primary, will be held April 1, 2025.

The Tulsa County Election Board is located at 555 N. Denver Ave, Tulsa and is open from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.
