The Oklahoma State Cowboys outscored Colorado by 10 points in the first half and held on for an 83-73 win, Saturday at Gallagher-Iba Arena in Stillwater.

OSU ended a two-game losing skid and improved to 10-7, 2-4 Big 12. The Buffaloes are still looking for their first conference win of the season, and have lost six straight, are now 9-8, 0-6 Big 12.

The Cowboys were led by Bryce Thompson and Marchelus Avery who each scored 15 points and Abou Ousmane added 14 points.

Colorado’s Bangot Dak scored 15 points, Sebastian Rancik 11 and Julian Hammond III 10.

The Cowboys led 43-33 at halftime and never gave up the lead in the second half. The Buffaloes threatened with a couple runs to come within five (43-38) and four (45-41) of the Cowboys but never got closer.

Oklahoma State will play at Texas Tech on Sunday at 2:00 p.m.
