The Omaha Mavericks remained undefeated in Summit League play with an 84-76 win over Oral Roberts Saturday night, in front of over 4,000 people at the Mabee Center.

ORU dropped to 5-15 overall, 1-6 in the Summit League, while Omaha improved to 13-9, 7-0 SL.

The Mavericks jumped out to an early lead, and with a 12-2 run midway through the first half, they extended their lead to 28-16 with 7:18 left before halftime. Omaha led 45-28 at the intermission.     The Golden Eagles opened the second half on a quick 6-0 run to trim the deficit to 11 points. Another big push by ORU came midway through the second half, as the Golden Eagles went on a 10-3 run and almost erased a 17-point deficit down the stretch.

ORU was led by Issac McBride who scored 11 of his 20 points in the first half. JoJo Moore scored 16 of his 18 points in the second half, and led the ORU push in the final 10 minutes.

Omaha’s JJ White had a career-night leading his team to victory, with a career-high 35 points. Marquel Sutton added 21 points and six rebounds.

ORU shot 47.3 percent (26-55) from the floor, 26.9 percent (7-26) from three-point range, and 68.0 percent (17-25) from the free throw line. ORU had seven turnovers, and the Mavericks had eight. Omaha outrebounded ORU, 34-29.

The Golden Eagles will be home this Saturday night to host Kansas City at 7:00 p.m. It will be Hall of Fame and Throwback Night, at the Mabee Center.
