Candidates interested in filing for municipal office in four Tulsa County municipalities and  filing for the Board of Education in 14 Tulsa County school district will file Declarations of Candidacy beginning 8 a.m. Monday, Dec. 1, 2025

Gwen Freeman, Secretary of the Tulsa County Election Board, said Declaration of Candidacy forms must be completed and submitted to the County Election Board no later than 5 p.m. Wednesday, December 3 when the filing period ends. Freeman reminds voters that Contests of Candidacy must be filed no later than Friday, December 5 and may only be filed by another candidate for that office, unless a candidate files unopposed.

Declarations of Candidacy will be accepted for the following Municipal offices:

 

City of Collinsville

  • Mayor 2 yr. term
  • City Commissioner Ward 1 2 yr. unexpired term
  • City Commissioner Ward 3 4 yr. term
  • City Commissioner Ward 4 4 yr. term

 

City of Owasso

  • Council Member Ward 3 3 yr. term
  • Council Member Ward 4 3 yr. term

 

City of Sapulpa

  • City Councilor Ward 5 4 yr. term

Note: Declarations of Candidacy will be accepted at the Creek County Election Board, 230 E. Hobson Avenue, Sapulpa, OK.74067 for the following City of Sapulpa offices:

  •  City Council Member Ward 3 3 yr. term

Party nominees for offices at stake in Collinsville, Owasso, Sand Springs, and Sapulpa will be selected in the Primary Election scheduled February 10, 2026. The General Election, if necessary, after the Primary, will be held April 7, 2026.

If more than two candidates file for the same vacant Board of Education position, a Primary Election will be held Tuesday, February 10. If one candidate receives more than 50% of the votes, that candidate will be named the official elected. If no candidate receives more than 50% of the votes, the two candidates receiving the highest number of votes will vie for the vacant position during the Board of Education General Election, April 7. If only two candidates file for the same vacant Board of Education position, those two candidates’ names will appear on the General Election ballot in April.
