Texas took its first lead of the day at 41-40 with 15:49 remaining. The teams played close throughout the next ten minutes, but Texas outscored OU 17-6 over the last 5:32 of the game to secure the win.
“That last nine minutes, we called a timeout, we read a little action and got the read on a pick-and-roll, and scored,” said OU head coach Porter Moser after the game. “From that point, the next nine possessions, we scored two points. Shot selection and different things of our last four minute offense, and part of it was because the guys wanted to win so bad, they took it upon themselves, but we had two turnovers and some bad shots.”
