St. Thomas proved to be too much to handle for ORU, as the Tommies beat the Golden Eagles, 92-75 on Saturday in St. Paul, Minn.

ORU’s record is now 5-20 overall, 0-10 in the Summit League. St. Thomas improved to 20-6, 9-2 in the Summit League, and is in second place in the conference standings.

ORU fell behind early in the first half and trailed 37-29, before going on a 5-0 run with 1:46 left in the half. St. Thomas led 39-36 at halftime.

St. Thomas extended its lead to 16 points in the second half, 77-61, but then the Golden Eagles went on a 7-0 run, to shrink the deficit to 77-68 with 6:15 to go.

St. Thomas outscored the Golden Eagles the rest of the way, sealing the win.

Despite the loss, ORU’s Ofri Naveh tallied his second double-double of the season scoring 17 points and grabbing 12 rebounds.

Three other Golden Eagles scored in double figures, led by Connor Dow with 20 points and seven rebounds. Ty Harper added 12 points and Martins Kilups scored a career-high 10 points.

St. Thomas was led by Nolan Minessale with 28 points, five rebounds and five steals.

The Golden Eagles outrebounded the Tommies, 46-35.

ORU has a couple home games this week, hosting Kansas City this evening (Thursday) at 7:00 p.m. South Dakota comes to town on Saturday for 7:00 p.m. start at the Mabee Center on Hall of Fame night.
