Big Band Hangar Dance will be held on April 25, 2026 at the Stafford Air & Space Museum. The Event will cost $50 per person ($45 for Oklahoma Route 66 Association members)
The Oklahoma Route 66 Association, Stafford Air & Space Museum, and the City of Weatherford invite you to celebrate the early years of Highway 66 with a night of big band music and dancing at Weatherford’s Stafford Air and Space Museum!
Route 66 Blue Whale Run will be held on Saturday May 30, 2026. Celebrate the 100th year of Route 66 and the re-opening of the newly revamped Blue Whale Park with walking or running a 5K or a one mile fun run on the original Route 66 road.
Come for the run, stay for the PARTY!
The Fun Run starts at 8:00 a.m.
The 5K will begin at 8:30 a.m., all runners in the 5K will receive a finishers medal.
Shirts will be available on a first come-first serve basis. Register early to make sure you get one.
5 year standard age group awards.
Top 3 over-all male and females will get awards.
Certified 5K race course.
Virtual option available to those that can’t make it to the race.
Proceeds from the race will go back to the Blue Whale.
The Iconic Blue Whale Park is getting a facelift! Join us for the re-opening of the park with a walk or run and then stay for the celebration!

Route 66 “Kickin’ It” Birthday Bash May 30th
Oklahoma City is hosing a city-wide bash for the Route 66 centennial at Scissortail Park and the Myriad Botanical Gardens. There will be plenty of classic American nostalgia with modern-day festivities across the city.
Vinita Route 66 Centennial Celebration June 5-6
Centered in Vinita’s historic downtown, where Cyrus Avery once had an office , this free celebration includes a street dance, art show, food trucks and a Saturday night concert.
The Great Race June 20-28
This nine-day vintage car rally from Illinois to California offers a once-in-a-lifetime Route 66 experience. The race stops in 17 different cities along the way and features approximately 130 cars ranging in model year from 1911 to 1974.
Route 66 Heritage Festival June 27-28
Live music, classic cars, motorcycles and more will fill downtown Miami for this annual event celebrating Oklahoma’s culture. Food vendors, a kid’s parade, and a scavenger hunt will keep you and the kids entertained.
Arcadia Round Barn Round-Up is a free event on October 17, 2026
One of the most iconic sites along the Mother Road, the Round Barn in Arcadia will host a music and art festival, fiddle contest, and more.
