Remember: “If My people…”?

This is from memory, not from research.

In the 1970’s, intercession for America started a campaign of “If My people” based on 2 Chronicles 7:14.

We would acknowledge our need for God to save us from problems plaguing our country.

Many churches strongly supported the effort. Some Christian organizations also joined in.

Support spread across the country.

Special classes on prayer were held in our area.

Days of prayer and fasting were held on the first Friday of the month.

A musical If My People by Jim and Carol Owens touched the country. The music was provided by a group of local volunteers. Narration was provided by Pat Boone or Dean Jones.

This was my experience in North Carolina.
