The Boy Scouts of America are pondering bankruptcy because of legal problems but those are the surface causes.

In the 1970s, the Boy Scouts had more than five million members and now they have more than two million.

What happened to cause this organization, founded on honor and character, to teeter on collapse?

Strike one was the embrace of homosexuality.

Strike two was deciding to let girls join.

Strike three probably will be the multitude of molestation cases arising from scout activities.

When the national BSA leaders were still moral, it was forbidden for publicly declared homosexuals to be scout leaders. And boys who promoted homosexuality could not join.

Now, openly homosexual leaders and scouts are welcomed with open arms. That decision made hundreds of thousands of parents to decide to drop scout membership for their sons.

The BSA lost almost half a million members in October of 2017 when they announced that girls could join. Then the Girl Scouts filed a lawsuit. BSA leaders probably felt that ACLU lawyers eventually would force them to accept girls and this was pre-emptive decision.

In 2012, the Oregon Supreme Court ordered the release of more than a thousand confidential files concerning sexual molestation in the Boy Scouts between 1965 and 1985. That started a parade of lawsuits. It was devastating to the Boy Scouts financially and in terms of their reputation.

More files came to light covering 1970 to 1991. They were filled with homosexuals and pedophiles. Because homosexuality was a core complaint, the mainstream media has downplayed or completely ignored this news.

The Boy Scouts were targeted by secularists, progressives, liberals and atheists because they represent tradition American values, based on Biblical principles. By using activist judges to force BSA to tilt to the left and then dismantling the whole organization, the liberals are destroying a positive influence on the youth of America. This is a public shame.
