Last fall, four Bixby High School football players were accused of raping another player. Remarks by some Bixby residents  were that those players “got a little rough – you know how boys are. They were roughhousing. Boys will be boys.”

Numerous school systems in other states are watching to see what the outcome will be from their trial and how justice will decide that case.

Bixby and its high school are being observed. The very slow onset of the investigation was astounding.

And the chief of police, the high school principal  and the mayor were asked if it were a daughter of theirs that this happened to, would the investigation and arrests happened at lightning speed?

If it were a girl, things would have been different, but because it was a boy, they were “just playing rough.”

A double standard exists in Bixby when it comes to sexual assault. Remember, other states are watching to see how justice handles this case of a double standard on sexual assault.
