The Military History Center will present a POW/MIA Event on September 15. The program to honor POW/MIA soldiers will take place at the Military History Center in Broken Arrow at 10 a.m.
The Military History Center is at the intersection of College and Main Street in Broken Arrow.
U.S. Army veteran Bill Grisez is the scheduled speaker for the event. Grisez served with the 82nd Airborne and was a POW for two years in a German POW camp during World War II. His story of service and survival has inspired many.
The Military History Center will also dedicate a brickwalk to the Choctaw Code Talkers of World War I and have an official opening ceremony for the Native Americans in the Military exhibit currently on display.
Speaking at that event is the great-granddaughter of Ben Carterby and the president of the Choctaw Code Talkers Association, Nuchi Nashoba.
The event is open to the public and is offered free of charge. The public is encouraged to bring family and friends for this event honoring our Prisoners of War and those Missing In Action.
