On May17, the Equality Act passed he U.S. House by a vote of 236 to 173 – including 8 Republicans who joined with nearly every Democrat. Hopefully, this bill will be halted in the U.S. Senate as it has yet to come up for a vote.

Many people do not know about the nature of this Act. Our nation has civil rights laws making it illegal to discriminate against people based on immutable characteristics – age, origin, ethnicity, gender but by including “sexual orientation” and “gender identity” alongside these characteristics, this act sets up conflicts between activists and churches, families, schools and organizations.

With this law, the sexual behavior one chooses and the sex they decide will receive special protections and extra “rights” based on their behavior and lifestyle. The harms this bill is able to cause is actually oppression dressed up in language of ” freedom and justice” or civil tyranny not civil rights.

Big Business in America is using its profits and influence for this bill to push a radical, anti-faith, anti­ family agenda. The agenda is backed by powerful forces like the U.S. Chamber of Commerce.

The act would require churches, medical professionals and business owners to violate their religious beliefs, jeopardize women’s and children’ s privacy and safety as well as threaten our right s as Christian parents to raise our children according to scriptural mandates. The Chamber has partnered with technology millionaire and LGBTQ activist Tim Gill’s foundation that has funneled money into supporting biased research supporting this bill.

Family Research Council submitted a letter to Congress, signed by a coalition of over 1,400 pastors and Christian leaders united against this bill. Their letter in part said, “This bill is incompatible with the Bible and historic teaching of the Church as well as being riddled with threats to religious liberty, the sanctity of human life, and is contrary to biological realities so that the bill would directly harm men, women, children and stifle freedom. The bill must be stopped.” Major corporations are rolling back our Christian and American values because they are hijacked by a leftist agenda.

You – an informed citizen – can send a letter to companies that attack your values and tell them a message.

Here’s an example, “After learning of your support for the Equality Act, or your open-restroom policy for persons identifying as transgender (in thought , in choice or in actual fact) and making safety for customers an unprotected reality, I want you to know you have lost a loyal customer and I will inform those in my sphere of influence of my decision as well. “

We are facing an uphill battle to protect our families, our children/grand children and our God-given values.
