Mayor G.T. Bynum has hired Jed Cochran as the “Chief of Intergovernmental Relations” for the City of Tulsa beginning Sept. 16.

Cochran will coordinate regional, state, federal and tribal relations for the city, and will be a Veterans Affairs liaison. Cochran will also help develop and manage state, federal and private foundation grants.

Cochran previously was the regional director and northeast field representative for U.S. Senator Jim Inhofe. He also worked extensively with elected officials, municipal and industrial leaders and Oklahomans across 20 counties.

Cochran holds a Bachelor of Arts in Government from Oral Roberts University. The Chief of Intergovernmental Relations position is a member of the Mayor’s cabinet and will report to Mayor Bynum.
