Chick-fil-A has buckled under political pressure and will no longer donate to the Fellowship of Christian Athletes and the Salvation.
Those are two outstanding nonprofits who do great work for young athletes and for America’s poor.
What “crimes” did FCA and the Salvation Army commit?
Nothing. No, they were singled out because they are Christian organizations who don’t cater to the Homosexual Agenda.
And now the Chick-fil-A Foundation is voting with its checkbook and tacitly endorsing homosexuality. The irony of this is that Chick-fil-A has been the darling of the Christian community for years. Christians rallied in the millions when the restaurant chain was threatened by radical homosexual groups. According to reports, the Chick-fil-A Foundation gave $1.65 million to the FCA and $115,000 to the Atlanta branch of The Salvation Army in 2018. Those donations will stop in 2020.
A spokesman for The Salvation Army said they were “saddened” by the news.
“We’re saddened to learn that a corporate partner has felt it necessary to divert funding to other hunger, education and homelessness organizations — areas in which The Salvation Army, as the largest social services provider in the world, is already fully committed,” according to a statement.
The Salvation Army helps poor and hungry people without regard to their sexual orientation.
“We serve more than 23 million individuals a year, including those in the LGBTQ+ community. In fact, we believe we are the largest provider of poverty relief to the LGBTQ+ population,” according to the statement.
Christians won’t respond by boycotting Chick-fil-A. But you have to ponder the impact when a large organization turns it back on Biblical principles in public fashion.
