Civil Air Patrol’s Starbase Composite Squadron volunteers are working to ensure that all veterans laid to rest at Floral Haven Cemetery are honored this December on National Wreaths Across America Day. This year, the ceremony, held simultaneously across the country at nearly 2,000 participating locations, will be Dec. 14.
The goal: to place a live, balsam fir veteran’s wreath at the headstone of every veteran buried there and spread patriotism and ensure no one if forgotten.
Civil Air Patrol’s Starbase Composite Squadron volunteers will host various fundraisers to sponsor veterans’ wreaths needed to honor every veteran at Floral Haven Cemetery. Each wreath sponsorship costs $15, with $5 going to the local fundraising group for Civil Air Patrol’s Starbase Composite Squadron.
“Every wreath sponsorship is a meaningful gift from a grateful American who knows what it means to serve and sacrifice for the freedoms we all enjoy,” said Karen Worcester, executive director of Wreaths Across America. “We are so grateful to the community of Tulsa for participating in our mission to Remember, Honor and Teach.”
Civil Air Patrol’s Starbase Composite Squadron will be coordinating fundraising events to raise money for both WAA and for their Cadet Programs.
