Congratulations to Coach Lincoln Riley and the Oklahoma football team for winning the Big 12 Championship and advancing to the College Football Playoff to play LSU on December 28.

It is a credit to the university and an honor for the state to have such an excellent sports program.

OU lost to LSU in 2003 in the 2003 national championship game and the hope is for payback this time.

But apart from the playing field, Riley is running a clean program that is a credit to his character.

There are problems anytime you deal with young people but OU has a great track record of installing discipline and good sportsmanship.

And congratulations to Coach Mike Gundy and the Oklahoma State Cowboy football team for a successful season and a trip to the Texas Bowl to play Texas A&M.

Again, Gundy runs a clean program. His consistency is amazing and he is a credit to the university and to the state.

Tulsa coach Philip Montgomery has a tough job in a very competitive American Athletic Conference.

After a couple of down years, 2019 showed definite signs of improvement.

Look for the Golden Hurricane to continue that improvement in 2020.
