Rogers State University in Claremore will recommend to its governing board a tuition freeze for the 2020-21 academic year.

In recognition of the economic uncertainty that the COVID-19 pandemic poses to its students, RSU will not

increase tuition or fees for new and continuing students and will increase privately-funded financial aid support.

“We want to ensure that all RSU students have the opportunity to succeed when they enroll,² RSU President Dr. Larry Rice said. “As we strive to place students first, eliminating a tuition increase removes a financial barrier that could otherwise disrupt a student¹s progress toward earning their degree.”

Students can enroll in fall classes at a rate that is among the most competitively priced in Oklahoma and the nation. Up to 84% of RSU students receive some form of financial aid, and RSU offers scholarship programs to make a high-quality education even more affordable. RSU will submit its tuition, fee, room and board proposals to the University of Oklahoma Board of Regents and the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education.

According to the U.S. Department of Commerce, students who graduate with a 4-year college degree will typically earn $1.1 million more during their lifetime as opposed to only a high school diploma. RSU has degree programs and options meeting the needs for Oklahoma’s top 10 fastest growing industries as identified by the Oklahoma Employment Security Commission.

RSU has earned national rankings for its value and affordability, including being named by U.S. News and World Report as one of the top schools in the region for lowest student debt upon graduation. Nearly half of RSU¹s students earn a degree without taking a student loan. For those who do assume student debt, RSU graduates have the second-lowest average debt when compared with peer colleges.
