Common sense and reasonable thinking seems to be disappearing in today’s world. Tulsa Public Schools (TPS) will not allow students to return to the school house; instead, they are required to do distant-learning through the Internet.
Meanwhile, the Mayor of Tulsa, who supports the TPS policy, has implemented a “new” plan of his own, whereby working parents can drop their school-age kids off at one of the six Community Centers operated by the Tulsa Park Department, and they will be supervised by a $12 per hour park employee while they do their school work via the Internet.
The Park Department plans to seat the children in groups of ten, in pods with proper social distancing and Internet access. While all of this is taking place, the classrooms at TPS’ 83 different schools will be empty, except for the 3,000+ professional teachers . . . all of whom are represented by labor unions and drawing salaries of $48,809 to $64,544 per year (www.salary.com).
If students are safe at the Park Department Community Centers, why aren’t they safe in TPS classrooms?
The mayor of Tulsa, and the superintendent of Tulsa Public Schools say they are following the medical advice of Dr. Bruce Dart, the executive director of the Tulsa County Health Department. But it should be noted that Dr. Bruce Dart is not a medical doctor.
He is a registered environmental health specialist, accredited by the National Public Health Leadership Institute, and he received his PhD in Health Services from Walden University (www.phf.org). There is no doubt, he is a well-educated man. But when it comes to making decisions that affect the overall economy, the well-being of our citizens, and the education of our children; i.e., shutting down businesses, churches and schools . . . Should we be relying solely on the advice of Dr. Bruce Dart?
God warned us long ago to not put all our trust in people – and that we would one day be living in an upside down world. I believe that day has arrived.
“You should stop trusting in people to save you, because people are only human; they aren’t able to help you” (Isaiah 2:22 NCV).
“How terrible it will be for people who call good things bad and bad things good, who think darkness is light and light is darkness, who think sour is sweet and sweet is sour. How terrible it will be for people who think they are wise and believe they are clever” (Isaiah 5:20-21 NCV).
The Lord says, “I will cause young boys to be your leaders, and foolish children will rule over you. People will be against each other; everyone will be against his neighbor. Young people will not respect older people, and common people will not respect important people” (Isaiah 3:4-5 NCV).
“Children treat my people cruelly, and women rule over them. My people, your guides lead you in the wrong way and turn you away from what is right” (Isaiah 3:12 NCV).
“It is better to trust the Lord than to trust people. It is better to trust the Lord than to trust princes” (Psalm 118:8-9 NCV).
The American people had better wake up and turn to the Lord before it’s too late.
