On December 2, the Republican-controlled U.S. Senate passed S.386, Fairness for High-Skilled Immigrants Act of 2019, by unanimous consent (avoiding a roll call vote).

This law would be more accurately called “Screw American High-Skilled Workers Act of 2019.”

This bill increased the number of H1-B Visa recipients who can apply for permanent resident status (green card) which is a path to citizenship. The effect of this law will be to increase foreign visa workers brought to US by high tech companies and the further displacement of thousands of US citizen highly trained tech workers.

S.386 was a gift to Google, Facebook, Twitter, AT&T, Walmart, Tennessee Valley Authority, Disney and countless other US companies because they can hire thousands of workers from India or China for pay-rates which are a fraction of what they would pay U.S. workers, and these foreign workers are not given benefits US workers would require.

Considering the current high unemployment rate of U.S. citizens due to the Coronavirus pandemic, the passage of S.386 gives us, as citizens, a true view of the sinister contempt our U.S. Senators Inhofe and Lankford actually have for us. They truly work to please their big-donor overlords, multinational corporations.
