Oklahoma defensive end Ronnie Perkins will forego his eligibility and enter the NFL Draft.

Perkins was a Freshman All-American in 2018 and then a Second Team All-Big 12 selection in 2019 and 2020. Due to a drug test, Perkins was ruled ineligible for the College Football Playoff semifinal in 2019 and he was suspended this season until October 31 in the game against Texas Tech.

This year, Perkins had 20 tackles, 13 of which were solo, and 5.5 sacks in limited action.

OU’s Rhamondre Stevenson, the Cotton Bowl’s most outstanding player on offense, will also be an early entrant in the NFL Draft.

Stevenson rushed for a team-high 665 yards for the Sooners despite missing the first five games due to suspension from the NCAA due to a drug test. He also had 211 receiving yards this past season.

Stevenson’s decision leaves OU thin at running back. Freshmen Seth McGowan with 370 rushing yards, 3 TDs,  and Marcus Major with 187 rushing yards and 3 TDs are the top returning runners. OU coach Lincoln Riley has indicated that Kennedy Brooks, who sat out the 2020 season due to the coronavirus pandemic, will be back in 2021. Brooks led the team with 1,011 rushing yards in the 2019 season.

Charleston Rambo, a major contributor to Oklahoma’s receiving corps for the past three years, is entering the transfer portal.

Rambo was expected to be the top receiver last season following the departure of CeeDee Lamb to the Dallas Cowboys. Rambo wound up with 25 catches for 312 yards and three touchdowns. He was fourth on the team behind Marvin Mims (610 yards, 9 touchdowns) and Theo Wease (530 yards, four touchdowns) and tight end Austin Stogner (422 yards, three touchdowns).

At least 11 players – including quarterbacks Tanner Mordecai (SMU) and Chandler Morris (TCU) – are transferring to new schools.

Cornerback Tre Brown, defensive back Tre Norwood and offensive linemen Creed Humphrey and Adrian Ealy also have decided to enter the 2021 NFL Draft.

Running back T.J. Pledger, linebacker Jon-Michael Terry and safety Robert Barnes are entering the transfer portal.

Tight end Jalin Conyers is transferring to Arizona State.
