Longtime Oklahoma City pastor Christine Byrd has announced her candidacy to run for chair of the Oklahoma Democratic Party.

Byrd’s announcement follows that of incumbent Alicia Andrews, who, in November, announced her intent to stand for re-election and Sean Cummings who announced his candidacy in December. The election of chair, vice chair, secretary, treasurer, and other positions will take place at the Oklahoma Democratic Party’s statewide convention to be held June 12 in Oklahoma City.
