Communist China, America’s most dangerous adversary, is relishing hosting the 2022 Winter Olympics because it will give its regime a chance to smooth over its excesses and present a positive image to the international community.
Human rights groups are pleading with the United States to boycott those Olympics because of the treatment of Tibet, Hong Kong, Muslims and the threat against Taiwan by the Communist leaders.
The International Olympic Committee, who seems to be in the back pocket of the Chinese Communists, refuses to entertain thoughts of moving the 2022 Winter Olympics to a less controversial country.
And you can count on the fact that the Biden Administration is not going to support any boycott involving the Chinese.
The games open on February 4, 2022 – six months after the Summer Olympics in Tokyo are scheduled to end.
Holding the games in Beijing is a tacit approval by nations across the world of the Chinese abuses of human rights. Those violations are fact and no one – including Joe Biden – has seriously challenged China on those issues. Biden’s family has profited from deals in China and he has done an about face from the Trump Administration in holding the Chinese Communists’ feet to the fire on trade, human rights and aggression.
A U.S. State Department report stated that “genocide and crimes against humanity” have taken place in the past year against Muslim Uyghurs and other minorities in the western region of Xinjiang.
Boycotting the Olympics won’t change the tyrannical policies of the Chinese government. But it would send a message to the rest of the world that the United States is willing to challenge China change its ways.
