The Military History Center in Broken Arrow is hosting its annual Flag Day Ceremony at the Center’s museum in the Rose District of Broken Arrow at 11 a.m. on June 12. The museum is at 112 North Main Street in downtown Broken Arrow. Flag Day is on Monday June 14; however, the ceremony will be held on June 12. A ceremonial raising of the American Flag, Service Branch flags, Medal of Honor flag, Army and Air National Guard flags, and the 45th Infantry Division flag will be done by veterans representing each flag. Dr. Everett Piper, former president of Oklahoma Wesleyan University and nationally known columnist and best-selling author, will be the guest speaker. Dr. Piper has appeared on several nationally syndicated radio shows and on national cable TV shows. He is also a contributing columnist for the Washington Times. He is the recipient of the 2016 Jeane Kirkpatrick Award for academic Freedom. The ceremony is free and open to the public. The Military History Center, which represents all branches of the military service and has artifacts from all of America’s major wars, opens at 10 a.m. on Monday through Saturday and closes at 4 p.m. each day.
