Christian businessmen who follow the principles in the Bible have a target on their backs.
And the attacks are growing and intensifying.
A few years ago, Truett Cathy, the founder of Chick-fil-A restaurants said he believed that marriage should be between one man and one woman – just as described in the Bible.
That doesn’t suit the city fathers of San Antonio who have blocked Chick-fil-A from opening a restaurant in that city’s public airport. The decision wasn’t based on Chick-fil-A discriminating against homosexuals – because it doesn’t.
No, the city doesn’t want anyone to disagree with them on the issue of homosexuality and they will use the power of the municipal government against anyone who dares defy them.
Councilman Roberto Treviño claims Chick-fil-A has a “legacy of anti-LGBTQ behavior.”
First Liberty Institute is investigating to see if the city’s actions violated federal nondiscrimination laws and if banning Chick-fil-A should impact what grants the city gets from the federal government.
Good.
Christians need to stand up for faith. Americans need to stand up for the God-given rights embedded in our Constitution.
San Antonio claims it denied Chick-fil-A because the company has donated to groups like the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, the Paul Anderson Youth Home and the Salvation Army. So, if you donate to a church that has a Christian-sounding name or believes in Biblical principles, you can’t do business with San Antonio.
This unconstitutional behavior by elected officials has to stop.
