P. Mitchell (Mitch) Adwon, a Tulsa businessman, is the newest Tulsa Community College Regents following his appointment to the TCC Board of Regents by Oklahoma Governor J. Kevin Stitt and approval by the Oklahoma Legislature.

Adwon took the oath of office during the TCC Board of Regents meeting on August 19 and will serve a seven-year term.

“Mitch Adwon’s years of experience as a businessman and heart for public service make him a strong addition to the TCC Board of Regents,” said Gov. Kevin Stitt. “I look forward to his continued success as he serves Oklahomans as an advocate for higher education in our state.”

Adwon is President of Adwon Properties, Inc. as well as managing member of Polly Properties, LLC, a commercial real estate investment holding company, and managing member of other related real estate investment entities with a multi-state focus.

He joins TCC Board of Regents Chair Caron Lawhorn, Vice Chair William R. McKamey, and Secretary James H. Beavers, as well as Samuel Combs III, Paul H. Cornell, and Wesley Mitchell. In his first year, Adwon will lead in the facilities and operation area for TCC as chair of the Facilities and Safety Committee.

“I am grateful to have been appointed by Governor Stitt and look forward to continuing to serve my community. As a life-long Tulsan, I am excited to be part of a cause as foundational as education and believe community colleges are the most important venue for an individual and community’s advancement,” said Adwon.
