Aviation maintenance instructor Robbie Wise has been named Teacher of the Year at Tulsa Tech.

According to Tulsa Tech’s Facebook page:

“Mr. Wise is highly-skilled in his craft, but also a highly-effective Aviation Maintenance instructor. He is best described as organized, dedicated, innovative and willing to do anything to better himself and his students.

“He understands the importance of collaboration with industry partners, fellow teachers, as well as district personnel, to ensure successful outcomes for his students.”

Wise has also been named a finalist in the Harbor Freight “Tools for Schools” program, which honors teaching excellence. Wise is one of 61 finalists out of 700 entrants.

In October, three teachers will be named grand prize winners and 15 others will be given prizes The total prize amount is more than $1 million.

In addition to Wise, two other Oklahoma instructors – Jorge Huizar (agricultural mechanics, Hennessey Schools) and Coty Green (automotive technology, Chisholm Trail Technology Center) – were finalist.

Wise spent more than 12 years in the U.S. Air Force as an aerospace manager. He holds an airframe and powerplant license.

Wise and his family are members of First Baptist Church of Broken Arrow.
