To: Christianity Today Magazine, Attn: Editor Mark Galli and President Timothy Dalrymple

Thank you for exposing your personal feelings about President Trump.  Fortunately, we do not share your condemnation of President Trump.  And while I cannot speak for the 63 million Americans who voted for Trump in 2016, I strongly suspect they too do not share in your condemnation.

You said the facts presented in these hearings were unambiguous . . . But I would say no facts were presented.  There were a lot of people expressing their opinions, but those opinions were based on hearsay information; i.e., something they had heard from other undisclosed sources; some of whom even relied on information they had read in The New York Times or The Washington Post. Even the mysterious “whistle blower” did not have firsthand knowledge – he (or she) was not a party to Trump’s telephone conversation with the Ukrainian president.  And no one except Rep. Adam Schiff and his staff have even talked with the “whistle blower.”

Why are the Democrats making such an effort to keep the identity of the “whistle blower” a top secret?  Is it because the “whistle blower” does not exist?  Or is the “whistle blower” a well-known political hack of the Democrats and highly biased against President Trump?

You say you have “reserved your judgment on Mr. Trump for years now . . . but now it’s time to call a spade a spade.”  You say President Trump “is a near perfect example of a human being who is morally lost and confused” and that “he should be removed from office.”   God’s Word tells us there were many who felt that same way about Moses in his younger days.  And the same is true for King David, particularly after his adulterous affair with Bathsheba, and his arranged murder of her husband.  And what about the Apostle Paul and his murderous rampage against Christians in his earlier years? Every human being (man or woman) is born with a sin nature – we are all sinners.  Jesus is the only one who walked the face of this earth and lived a sinless life.  And thankfully, God provided a plan of redemption and salvation whereby our sins (past, present and future) can be forgiven by believing in Jesus Christ.  That plan of redemption is available to everyone who believes, and invites Jesus into their heart as their Lord and Savior.

You are not in a position to judge President Trump and neither am I, because neither of us has the ability to know what is hidden in his heart.  God is the only one who has that ability, and the only one capable of properly judging the things men and women do, and don’t do. God is the only one who has the final authority on all things.  In Daniel 2:21-22 NIV, God’s Word tells us:

“He [God} changes times and seasons; he deposes kings and raises up others.  He gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to the discerning.  He reveals deep and hidden things; he knows what lies in darkness, and light dwells with him.”

Removing President Trump from office would be a big mistake for this nation, particularly when you look at the other candidates that are being considered for 2020. President Trump is doing a good job for this nation and deserves our full support.  If you don’t like him, vote for one of the other candidates in November 2020.
