The deadline to request mailed ballots for the April 5 election is 5 p.m. on March 21, according to Tulsa County Election Board Secretary Gwen Freeman.

The April 5th ballots include races for Board of Education General for ISD-4 Bixby Public Schools Office 2, ISD-5 Jenks Public Schools Office 2, ISD-11 Owasso Public Schools Office 2, ISD-2 Sand Springs Public Schools Office 2, ISD-1 Tulsa Public Schools Office 4 & 7, ISD-9 Union Public Schools Office 2 and Tulsa Technology Center Zone 3; as well as municipal general elections for the City of Sand Springs Councilmember Ward 1 and Special Propositions Elections for ISD-11 Owasso Public Schools and ISD-14 Liberty Public Schools.

Freeman said officials need some time for the applications to be received, completed and returned.  All ballots must be in the hands of officials by 7 p.m. on election day.

Voters can make a request using the OK Voter Portal at oklahoma.gov/elections/ovp or at oklahoma.gov.elections and at the County Election Board at 555 N. Denver Ave.

Anyone who wants to change their party affiliation must submit the request no later than March 31, Freeman said. They can do this at oklahoma.gov/elections/ovp also.

Freeman said by law party changes are not allowed between April 1 and August 31 in even-numbered years.

You must be a registered member of a political party to vote in that party’s primary election. Any registered voter can vote in a general election.
