Tulsa County Assessor John Wright has been chosen to serve as one of four board members on the statewide County Assessor’s Association.

“I am honored with this opportunity to help strengthen the assessing profession throughout the state.” Wright said.

The statewide board coordinates regional meetings of Assessors and their staff to discuss updates in state policy from the Oklahoma Tax Commission. The Association’s Board also assists with two statewide continuing education programs for all County Assessors, and provides relevant updates on statutory changes and upcoming legislative efforts to each of the 77 county assessors and their offices.

In his fourth year as the elected Tulsa County Assessor, John Wright is working to strengthen communication between the Assessors, the Tax Commission, and the Legislature.

“My previous service in the Legislature has given me a perspective that I believe will enhance a coordinated approach to improving professionalism and customer service in the Assessor’s offices. I am humbled by the confidence my fellow Assessors have shown in my efforts,” said Wright.

The appointment extends through the association’s annual conference October 28th, 2022.  Wright will complete his term as Tulsa County Assessor December 31, 2022 and is expected to file for re-election.
