The August 22 Tulsa Beacon included an article relating the religious backgrounds of the Democratic presidential candidates. Several of the candidates claim to be Catholic and the article portrayed their pro-views on abortion and gay marriage very well. However, their positions on these issues are quite contrary to that of the Catholic Church. There is no stronger opposition to these issues than those of the Catholic Church among all the other Christian faiths. We wish that this could have been included in the article for the reason that some non-Catholic readers might assume that these candidates’ awful views are those of the Church.
