Joe Biden is the official president who surrendered in the War in Afghanistan when he ordered the pullout of American troops.

Since that order, the Taliban has rapidly overpowered the Afghan forces that were trained and supplied by the United States. They took over that country after Biden’s military leaders claimed there would be no repeat of the disgrace of the pullout of South Vietnam and yet history is repeating itself.

Why were we in a war in Afghanistan?

Former President George W. Bush took us to war against Iraq because they invaded Kuwait. So, from about 2003 to 2011, we were fighting in both Iraq and Afghanistan.

The War in Afghanistan is the longest war in American history.  According to some reports, 2,448 American soldiers were killed (so far) in Afghanistan and 3,844 U.S. contractors were killed. Other NATO members lost 1,144 soldiers.

Who knows how many American soldiers were wounded and scarred for life, both physically and emotionally.

Almost 50,000 Afghan civilians were killed and about 66,000 Afghani soldiers died.  The Taliban lost more than 51,000 fighters. Four hundred and forty-four aid workers were killed and 72 journalists.

We tried to turn Afghanistan into a western democracy and it didn’t work. We borrowed billions of dollars to pump into Afghanistan and we left an enormous amount of surplus military equipment in that nation.

Biden is responsible for a disastrous end to a very costly war.
