Senate President Pro Tempore Greg Treat, R-Oklahoma City, said he is encouraged by Oklahoma’s recent court victory in challenging the Biden administration’s vaccine mandates.

Oklahoma Attorney General John O’Connor’s and 11 other state attorneys general in November challenged the Biden administration’s vaccine mandate for health care workers. On November 30, a federal court granted an injunction putting a hold on the vaccine mandate for health care workers.

“This is another legal win for Oklahoma and other states challenging the Biden administration’s vaccine mandates. The Legislature this year wisely poured $10 million into the Oklahoma AG’s Office to push back against excessive and egregious federal overreach, like the vaccine mandate for health care workers. I want to commend Attorney General O’Connor and his office for their effort and wish them continued success. Oklahoma is winning in the effort to push back on federal overreach. We must maintain our efforts and course to stop federal overreach by continuing to fight and win in federal court,” Treat said.
