Blue Cross Blue Shield of Oklahoma awarded nearly $1 Million in grants to improve the lives of Oklahomans.
Blue Impactâ„¢ grants target social and economic factors effecting the health and wellness of Oklahomans. Fifty percent of the grants will be awarded to rural communities and statewide programs, while the remaining funds will be awarded to the Oklahoma City and Tulsa metros.
Twenty-one Oklahoma non-profits received grants to fund initiatives to improve the lives of Oklahomans on Wednesday, August 27 at 9:30 a.m. at a ceremony held at Coles Garden, 1415 NE 63rd St, Oklahoma City, OK 73111
Blue Impact invests in and partners with nonprofit organizations that offer sustainable, measurable programs to reach Oklahomans in these five areas of focus:
- Economic Opportunity and Stability: Addressing issues such as poverty, barriers to employment, and upskilling.
- Nutrition: Supporting efforts to improve food security and increase access to nutritional food.
- Neighborhood and Local Assets: Focusing on affordable healthy housing, access to transportation, and access to physical activity.
- Locally Defined Health Solutions: Addressing local health and human service needs.
- Optimal Health Outcomes: Helping close gaps in care, specifically around six priority areas: immunizations, diabetes care, cardiovascular care, behavioral health, early detection cancer screening and maternal & infant health.
