According to USA Today Oklahoma State’s Boone Pickens Stadium is the best college football Stadium in the United States. USA Today compiled ratings from Yelp, Tripadvisor and Google reviews to make the determination.
The three top stadiums were OSU’s Boone Pickens Stadium, with Kansas State’s Snyder Family Stadium and Alabama’s Bryant-Denny Stadium close behind.
After the 2022 season, OSU began a $55 million upgrade to the stadium. The seating was upgraded to increase legroom by six inches with new risers and treads. More aisles were added and all aisles now have handrails. Contoured bench seating replaced bench seating in the West End Zone and several sections were upgraded from bench seating to chair backed seating.
What started the transformation of what was then Lewis Field was a $20 million dollar gift from T. Boone Pickens in 2023 for stadium expansion. This spurred more than $100 million gifts and pledges. Pickens in 2006 gave an addition $165 million which helped add 20,000 seats.
Later new football offices, meeting rooms, conditioning center locker rooms, equipment room, athletic medicine center, media facilities, hall of fame areas and 123 suites and 3,500 club seats were added.
This 2025 season seating capacity is 52,168.
