The Oklahoma Public Charter School Association (OPCSA) will host a hiring fair to highlight faculty and staff openings at Oklahoma public charter schools at 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on March 5 at Central Library’s Pocahontas Greadington Learning & Creativity Center, 400 Civic Center, in Tulsa.

The Charter School Hiring Fair will include opportunities in teaching, leadership and operations positions in elementary and secondary charter school settings.

School administrators from more than 10 Oklahoma City and Tulsa-area public charters will be present to meet candidates and schedule interviews.

The event will create a simple and convenient place for interested candidates to learn more about charter school models, explore available roles across all grade levels and discover opportunities that fit with their passions and talents.

“Connecting with ideal candidates who can best serve our students is the goal of the Charter School Hiring Fair,” said Chris Brewster, OPCSA president. “Charter schools are high-quality alternatives for students, educators and staff that provide flexible, personalized instruction.

“We count on outstanding principals, teachers and support personnel to meet our high standards for quality education and look forward to welcoming additional team members who are committed to the success of the next generation.”

This is the first time the state’s public charter schools have collaborated on a hiring event. Just as with traditional districts, Oklahoma’s public charter schools have been forced to respond to staffing shortages due to the coronavirus pandemic.

A few charter schools who will be in attendance do not require teacher certification.

Oklahoma’s public charter schools are free of charge and open to all students. There are no financial, behavioral or academic requirements for students to attend. For more information about Oklahoma public charter schools, visit www.okcharters.org.
