Elements within mainstream Christian denominations are embracing homosexuality. That’s news to no one, especially some Presbyterians, Lutherans, Episcopalians, Methodists and others. But does it now include the Southern Baptists?

The progressive ethics branch of the Southern Baptist Convention, the Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission (ERLC) is headed by Russell Moore.

While the Southern Baptist Convention is far away from abandoning the Bible and embracing homosexuality, the ERLC is promoting ministries like “Living Out” – which approves of “celibate but open homosexuals” within churches.

The ERLC’s website published and sold “A Parent’s Guide to Teaching Your Children About Gender.” That sounds harmless but it quotes Nate Collins, founder of the “gay Christianity” Revoice movement. Collins is a former professor at Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. In his doctoral dissertation, Collins stated that “virgin” was a “third gender.” Collins promotes that homosexuality is a “blessing” from God and that gay people have an innate ability to “love” others the way straight people do not.  The Revoice movement pushes the idea that being “queer” is a “gift from God” and it approves of homosexuals living together as couples. They can act like married people as long as they don’t have intercourse.

Collins thinks that Jesus might have been a homosexual.

This is heresy and anyone involved in the Southern Baptist Denomination should be concerned and watchful about this departure from Scripture and morality.
