The Eastern Oklahoma VA Health Care System (EOVAHCS) will hold a Moral Injury & Reconciliation Clinic for women Veterans beginning June 14.
The clinic will be every Friday from 12:30 p.m. to 2 p.m. for 12 weeks at the Tulsa VA Behavioral Medicine Clinic at 10159 E. 11th St. Video teleconferencing will be available at the Jack C. Montgomery East Clinic in Muskogee, located at 2414 E. Shawnee Rd.
According to a press release, “’moral injury’ is the wounding of the conscience from a traumatic experience such as combat or sexual trauma. Moral injury may occur when one experiences a traumatic event that conflicts with or violates a core moral value or deeply held belief. Inner healing is aided by weekly homework exercises, group reflection and the support of other women Veterans who have had similar experiences.”
