Sen. John Haste has been chosen to serve on several key committees in the Oklahoma State Senate.  Senate President Pro Tempore-designate Greg Treat announced the appointments.

The freshman Republican will serve on the Appropriations Subcommittee on Health and Human Services as well as the Retirement and Insurance, Education, and Veterans and Military Affairs Committees.

“I’m honored to have been chosen for these committees and I’m anxious to get to work on these important issues for our state,” said Haste, R-Broken Arrow.  “Improving education as well as health care and mental health care access and services around the state are so important. When we properly address these issues, it has a positive impact on so many other areas including lowering incarceration rates, increasing employment and strengthening our economy overall.”

The legislature will convene for Organizational Day on January 8 and session will begin on February 4.
