Here are some of the plans of the mainstream candidates running for the Socialist Democrat nomination for president.

• Forgive all student debt.
• Make tuition free for all state-supported colleges and universities.
• Give poor people a monthly allowance.
• Place a 2 percent wealth tax on anyone worth more than $10 million.
• Let 16-year-olds vote.
• Impeach President Trump (even though he was cleared of coercion with Russia and obstruction of justice).
• Let felons – even those in prison – vote.
• Eliminate the Electoral College.
• Legalize the recreational use of marijuana.
• Open our borders to all immigrants, legal or not.
• Don’t build a wall or any barriers on our southern border.
• Give homosexuals special civil rights based on their sexual preferences.
• Have the Armed Forces pay for service men and women who want sex-change operations.
• Stop the use of coal, natural gas and oil to generate energy.
• Force everyone in the country into a single-payer health care system run by the government.
• Extend Medicare to all ages.
• Institute a carbon tax to subsidize climate change problems in other countries.
• Expand the number of Supreme Court justices to water down the court.

And there is much more.

If you listen to the Democrat candidates, they only refer to America as a “democracy.” The United States of America is a republic. The Founding Fathers understood a true democracy leads to mob rule. We elect leaders who work for the common good while protecting individual freedoms.

These Democrats want to change our system of government by promising a bunch of free stuff and stoking the fire of class envy. Let’s hope they don’t succeed.
