The leaders of the Oklahoma Democrat Party pleaded with Gov. Kevin Stitt to not allow any exceptions in his stay home order for churches and religious services.

And the Democrats were wanting to curtain the constitutional rights to assemble, for free speech and religious liberty by using the coronavirus as an excuse to control people.

And they were insisting on denying Christian churches the right to meet on Easter.

“We recognize this is Passover and Holy Week. These are very important religious holidays and many Oklahomans regularly attend religious services and large family gatherings to celebrate these holidays,” Alicia Andrews, ODP Chair said in a press release just before Easter.

“In the interest of protecting all Oklahomans–and saving countless lives–we are calling on the Governor to allow for no exemptions to the stay-at-home rule. It is simply not possible to responsibly social distance in a crowded church, synagogue, or mosque.”

Most congregations in Tulsa and the rest of Oklahoma did not meet on Easter Sunday in their buildings but many worshiped online. But the difference is that they chose to protect people by not meeting instead of being forced to by the state government.

Of course, liberal religious groups joined the Democrat chorus because it gave them a chance to show that they are “morally superior” to other churches, Christians in particular.

Also, the leaders of the Oklahoma Democrat Party want to change the way we vote. They are asking the Legislature to make it easier to vote by mail by striking the law that requires that mail-in ballots be notarized.

The Democrats want to make it easier for non-citizens and illegal aliens to cast ballots. Again, they are jumping on the pandemic to enact socialist legislation.

Don’t restrict churches and don’t make it easier to vote illegally.
