New York City reluctantly issued a permit for a Memorial Day parade after initially denying the request.

City officials cited concerns about the spread of the Chinese coronavirus if the parade were allowed.

Parade organizers threatened to sue if the denial were upheld and city officials relented.

This permit was not initially denied because of health concerns but it was obviously politically motivated by bureaucrats – perhaps even Mayor Bill de Blasio himself – because of their disdain for anything to do with the military.

The May 31 Memorial Day Parade marks the 30th anniversary of Operation Desert Storm and will include Gulf War veterans as special guests.

City officials previously had given permits for Black Lives Matter protests, a limited St. Patrick’s Day parade and a Cannabis (marijuana) Parade.

Honoring the people who gave their lives in military service for our nation should not be a political football but progressives in New York City tried to stop it anyway.
