No. 20 Oklahoma evened its conference mark at 2-2 with a tight victory over former No. 25 TCU in Norman Saturday.
OU won 76-74 as Kristian Doolittle hit a crucial shot with a few seconds left to seal the victory. Doolittle had 24 points and 10 rebounds to pace the Sooners (13-3, 2-2).
“I knew I had to be more aggressive, regardless of where I started off at,” Doolittle said. “I’ve just been doing what the team needed me to do.”
TCU (12-3, 1-2) outrebounded OU 30-14 in the first half, including 13 offensive rebounds. Oklahoma had a 22-12 rebounding edge after halftime.
After playing three ranked teams – Kansas, Texas Tech and TCU – the Sooners’ schedule eases a bit with six straight games against unranked teams.
That doesn’t mean it won’t be tough to win.
OU plays at Texas at 7 p.m. Saturday and then travels to OSU January 23 for an 8 p.m. rematch in the Bedlam series.
