This list is not a comprehensive list of endorsements, that will be available closer the the August 25 election date. It will be added to as decisions on endorsements are made.

 

U.S. Senator for the seat left vacant by Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security Markwayne Mullin:

  • The Democratic runoff  – no endorsements.

Oklahoma Governor – the Tulsa Beacon endorses Mike Mazzei.  Gentner Drummond is a Democrat in disguise.

Superintendent of Public Instruction – endorses Dr. James Taylor, a true conservative.  Although Robert Franklin has more of the credentials you would look for, after perusing the education books he recommends he appears much more liberal than his campaign would lead you to believe,  and the Tulsa Beacon cannot recommend Franklin.

State Labor Commissioner –  Kevin West

State Insurance Commissioner – Rep. Marty Quinn

SQ 846 – Voter ID Oklahoma already has a good Voter ID law, the legislature wants to put this SQ in the Constitution to keep it from being changed in the future. However this SQ does not have the definitions of what ID will work or details of who can vote, ie. citizens or non-citizens, like the law does. Vote No until a version can be brought before the people that includes these safeguards – we already have a law which includes those safeguards until then.

State Senate District 34 Republican Runoff, the Tulsa Beacon happily endorses Dana Prieto, a proven conservative.

Tulsa City Council

  • District 1 – no endorsements
  • District 2 – no endorsements: Archie is a moderate Republican and Bisogno’s issues are mainly federal issues (conservative and good ones), but he is all for transparency of budget (local issue).
  • District 3 – no endorsement but Jackie Dutton is less liberal than Tanisha Bowen
  • District 5 – Burnett is endorsed by the Democratic party, and Gilbert is a moderate Republican
  • District 7 – definitely NOT Lori Dector Wright – very liberal, NOT Kenny Wogoman a previous marijauna activist, that leaves Dave Perry

 

ONG Franchise vote –  Vote Yes it just extends the right of ONG to provide gas service in Tulsa and to pay the city some of their proceeds.  These franchises are voted on periodically.

  • The Tulsa Beacon endorses DUSTIN ALLEN, definitely NOT Loretta Radford – very liberal minded
