Joe Biden keeps making choices that make America’s energy crisis worse instead of better. The latest intentional mistake is to allow the amount of ethanol in gasoline to rise to 15% this summer. Biden claims this will save the average American motorist 10 cents a gallon and that will solve the problem.
It won’t.
First, ethanol is more corrosive on vehicles than straight gasoline. And even though it costs more, it gets better gas mileage.
Secondly, it is madness to divert more food (corn) to fuel during an upcoming worldwide food shortage that even Biden admits in on the horizon. Ukraine produces more than 40% of the world’s wheat harvest and that will be severely disrupted by the Russian invasion.
Thirdly, this band-aid approach ignores the real solution – a return to energy independence. America is blessed with an abundance of oil and natural gas but Biden, from day one of his regime, has battled exploration, production and transportation of these vital and cost-effective fuels.
Biden and his ilk want to destroy the mobility of Americans by piling on disincentives to gas-powered autos. They want to reinforce the myth of global warming and climate change and that they have the only scheme to save the planet. They don’t.
But they understand that their destructive policies are wildly unpopular and that they will in all likelihood cost the Democrats control of the House and Senate in the midterm elections.
So Biden wants a photo-op to tell Americans he will stop the rising gas prices by using more food as inefficient energy.
Nothing Biden does works to help Americans.
