The impact of the Chinese coronavirus is lessening in Tulsa County and around the United States.
As of the end of May, 45,229 cases had been confirmed in the City of Tulsa with 736 deaths with 44,268 recoveries, according to the Oklahoma Department of Health.
Broken Arrow has had 16,502 cases with 198 deaths and 16,226 recoveries. Bixby has had 3,711 cases with 31 deaths and 3,646 recoveries.
Owasso has had 5,537 cases with 79 deaths and 5,433 recoveries. Jenks has had 3,005 cases with 26 deaths and 2,970 recoveries.
Sand Springs has had 3,342 cases with 68 deaths and 3,269 recoveries. Glenpool has had 1,630 cases with 26 deaths and 1,599 recoveries.
There have been 75,371 confirmed cases in Tulsa County, with 73,892 recoveries and 1,112 deaths. That is second in the state behind Oklahoma County, with 84,426 cases, 85,823 recoveries and 1,301 deaths.
As of May 29, Oklahoma has reported 453,186 confirmed cases of the Chinese coronavirus with 444,399 recoveries and 7,316 deaths.
On the week of May 23-29, there were 898 reported cases (a drop of almost 11%) with 25 deaths.
Statistics showed that 95% of those deaths were people age 50 or older with only 34% of the total cases involving those 50 or older. The average age of cases was 40 and the average age of those who died was 75.
Up to May 29, 26,489 Oklahoma residents had been hospitalized and 2,450,275 residents had been vaccinated.
The risk of dying from the coronavirus in Oklahoma was 1.6% and about 671 patients per 100,000 have ever been hospitalized during the outbreak.
Oklahoma ranks 26th among the states in reported cases. Texas has had 2,943,316 cases, New Mexico has had 202,821. Colorado has 542,405 cases, Kansas has had 313,997.
There have been 599,382 confirmed cases in Missouri, 341,290 in Arkansas and 470,685 in Louisiana.
Oklahoma is also 26th in the number of deaths due to the virus.
Texas has had 50,403 deaths, New Mexico has had 4,283. Colorado has 6,578 deaths, Kansas has had 50,076.
There have been 9,080 deaths in Missouri, 5,830 in Arkansas and 10,576 in Louisiana.
The total number of deaths in nursing homes in Tulsa County is 284 with 1,516 confirmed cases and 1,227 recoveries.
As of June 2, John Hopkins reports that there have been 33,307,363 confirmed cases of the coronavirus nationwide with 595,833 deaths.
