When the man called Jesus fed 5,000 people with only 5 loaves, and 2 fishes it was a miracle. Something else happened that day. It wasn’t a miracle but it was supernatural .  Here is the rest of the  story.

The 5,000 was men but if women, and children are included there was more. It isn’t likely all of the men were married but at least 3,000 may have had wives.    As for the kids, there was at least one boy, and one girl  Per couple – 5,000 men 3,000 women 3,000 boys , and 3,000 girls is 14,000 people that was fed.

The 100 yards and 2 end-zones of a football field would probably hold a  thousand people but for so many you’d need 14 football fields. If that many football fields was laid end-to-end, they would cover almost a mile. Therefore, the voice of Jesus had to be supernaturally amplified.

Because the day was far-spent, and the walking distance so great, it probably took the Disciples until the wee hours in the morning to feed everybody. After all were fed, Jesus had His Disciples to go back, and  gather up the leftovers which filled 12 baskets.

But time, and distance weren’t the only speed-bumps – there was the noise.  The men talked business, and women chatted while the kids played.

After all was said, and done, Jesus probably gave the 12 baskets of left-overs to the lad who had supplied the loaves and fishes.

As the late news commentator Paul Harvey would say,  “…and now you know the rest of the story”
